TCM Coffee Machine Usage Guidelines

Everyone MUST undergo a (10min) training session and sign up for the new TCM coffee mailing list BEFORE using the TCM coffee machine!

The TCM coffee machine is available for anyone to use, provided that they are trained, pay for their coffee, and in general adhere to the usage guidelines below. It is an honour-based system, and everyone's cooperation is needed to keep the system running.

A few simple rules when using the TCM coffee machine

  • If you meet someone when making coffee, please say hello and introduce yourself!
  • If you see that the ground coffee in the grinder runs low, please grind some more. It would be good to keep the level always at least half-full.
  • Please keep the area clean and tidy. If something is dirty or out of place, please take a minute to sort it. Dirty cups should go in the dishwasher, and when it has finished running, please help by emptying it and moving the cups back to the top of the coffee machine.
  • Please record your consumption with the beanbot (instructions below).

Coffee consumption recording and payments

  • On the counter opposite the sink, you will see a beanbot that can be used to record your coffee consumption. Please select single or double and tap your Cam card. (This is not a payment system, just a counting system.)
  • If it is the first time you use the system, your Cam card will be automatically registered and an account created for you.
  • You can access your account via the Login button in the top right corner of the page using your standard Ravel login. In your account, you will be able to monitor your coffee consumption and payment history, as well as record new payments.

When you wish to make a payment for your coffee bill, please follow these two steps:

  1. Make a payment via bank transfer to:

  2. Log into your account and record the payment via the corresponding input box (insert a positive amount for your payment and then press the button to register it).
